Telling Real Estate design stories, from the heart of Melbourne
Melbourne’s Italian, Chinese and Greek cultural precincts are steeped in history.
The City of Melbourne briefed us to help preserve and pass on the stories of these historical areas to a new generation in the form of a modern, glossy book.
The result is a 260-page coffee table hardback, mixing archive photography and stories written by local historians with a modern design, gold leaf edging and a slip case. We wanted to maintain the cultural significance of these Melbourne landmarks and encourage a new generation to engage with a history and tradition that is easily lost.
We took the idea a step further and developed street signage that contained delightful story-snippets from the book, along with a video and poster campaign.
